It's morning time, the sun is high,
But Mommy's still asleep, oh my!
I peek inside her room so wide,
Her covers pulled up, hiding her inside.

I shake her gently, "Mommy, wake up!"
But she just snores and stirs her cup.
I jump and shout, "It's time to play!"

I race downstairs and search for food,

And pretend to be a knight on valiant feats.

The hours pass and soon it's noon,
And still my mommy sleeps, it's a strange boon.
I start to worry, is she okay?
I tiptoe closer and peek at her face with dismay.

She's breathing softly, looking so serene,
Her face is peaceful, like a tranquil scene.
I smile and stroke her hair with care,
And whisper, "Mommy, I'm always here."

I sit beside her, watching her sleep,
And feel a love so deep, so steep.
I realize then, it's not so bad,
To have a mommy who's a little bit rad.

So I'll be patient, I'll wait with glee,
Until my mommy wakes up, full of glee.
And when she does, we'll play all day,
And make up for the time she slept away.
